Pioneer Trek Itinerary

This year our youth have the opportunity to go on a Pioneer Trek! Trek will take place June 19th - June 22nd. It will be at Mosida, UT. Please visit the Mosida Trek site to learn more about this location.

The following is a basic outline of what will take place. We don't want to give all the details because we want the experiences to be new and exciting for all who participate.

Day 1 Tuesday June 19

8:00 am PST Meet at the Battle Mountain Church Building

Participants need to arrive in church clothes. You need to have one trek outfit packed and ready in a duffle bag. The name you have found to take to the temple also needs to be printed and packed in your bag with your temple recommend. The rest of your trek stuff should be packed into your 5 gallon bucket.

There will be a short devotional in the chapel. You will receive your family assignments at this time. Light breakfast will be provided as well.

8:30 am PST Family Workshop Rotations

Trek families will create family flags, do a few get-to-know-you activities, and practice their family song. Trailers will be loaded with your buckets and other trek supplies.

11:00 am PST Depart for Mosida!

Participants will travel with their trek families to Utah. This is another chance for families to get to know each other better as they travel.

A sack lunch and snacks will be provided to eat as you travel.

6:00 pm MST Meet at Payson and Provo City Center Temples for Baptisms

Now you know why you have to travel in church clothes! Youth will do baptisms for one family name. After the temple you will go to a neighboring church building where you will change into your trek outfit. Your church clothes will be put in your duffle bag. Trek officially begins once you are in your pioneer clothes!

7:00 pm Leave Temples

7:45 pm Arrive at Mosida

8:00 pm Dinner in Camp

8:45 pm Camp Organization

Everyone will help unload their buckets and bedrolls. Tents will already be set up by the Quarter Master crew. Each family will have one tent for girls, one tent for boys, and one tent for the Ma and Pa.

9:30 Family Devotional

10:00 pm Bedtime - Lights out!

Day 2 Wednesday June 20 through Day 4 Friday June 22

A packed schedule has been created for each day. We aren't giving anything away! Rest assured there will be a lot of handcart pulling, maybe some pushing, some square dancing, pioneer games, story telling, and no showers. Ha!

Day 4 Friday June 22

2:15 pm MST Leave for Home

Participants will again be traveling with their trek families back to the Battle Mountain Church Building. Sack lunches and snacks will be provided for the ride home.

7:00 pm PST Arrive in Battle Mountain

Parents should be at the Battle Mountain Church Building to pick up their youth. Yes, they might be stinky and smelly and dirty and tired but they will also have so much to share!

Sunday, June 24th - Stake Trek Fireside

4:00 pm This fireside is for everyone in the stake! All youth and their families, whether they participated in trek or not, are invited to come and see pictures and hear the testimonies of those who participated.
